Meet Jamine – Director, Senior OT & Clinical Educator

The small Central Queensland town of Emerald raised the fun-loving, coffee-drinking, horse riding, and wit-filled lady named Janine, Jasmine, no wait…. Jamine (she’s heard all the variations!).
As one of the directors and owners of More Than Able Therapy, Jamine brings her extensive experience as a Senior Occupational Therapist, Clinical Educator, and professional supervisor to our team. Her passion for supporting families, professionals, and our MDT team is evident in everything she does – from clinical work to presenting at professional development events. Having worked across education, private practice, and health sectors in both metropolitan and regional settings, she brings a wealth of practical knowledge to her role.
Jamine’s smile, warmth, and generous nature are proudly sponsored by her coffee addiction (which she swears has magical powers and got her through her degree at the University of the Sunshine Coast). These days, she’s living her best life as a wife to Adam and bonus-mum to two beautiful girls, with their four-legged family member Ted completing the crew.
When she’s not supporting families, mentoring professionals, or leading our clinical team, you’ll find her giving impromptu pep-talks to whoever needs one, hosting dinner parties, or making any excuse for a cheese board and wine picnic with a mountain view (Maleny, we’re looking at you!). Her love for people, combined with her ability to identify what makes each client special, makes her a natural at supporting families through their journey.

Delia Weston

Director - Physiotherapist

Meet Delia Weston | Director, Physiotherapist

Delia is our resident physiotherapist and one of the clinic directors at More Than Able Therapy.

Some words that could be used to describe her include; passionate, determined, thoughtful, and just a little bit cheeky. She started her life in the USA, and through several happy accidents has found herself putting roots down on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.

Delia completed her undergraduate studies in Florida and gained her postgraduate physiotherapy qualification at Bond University early in 2015.

Delia was lucky enough to grow up with a sister who had Cerebral Palsy, and from a young age, she knew that she was meant to be a physiotherapist supporting children like Amber.

She loves living by the beach, reading sci-fi fantasy literature (nerd), lifting heavy weights, and buying too many plants. Delia is a deep thinker who has a shocking amount of knowledge about a huge array of things.

Thankfully, one of those things is physiotherapy!

  • She can quote any line from the first Harry Potter movie and may or may not have a harry potter themed tattoo.
  • Once upon a time, she was a competitive surf boat rower.
  • She is a fan of hibernation and will nap at any opportunity she gets.

Step One: Assessment

Where are we starting from?

The first appointment is about getting to know you and your child and finding out what matters to your family. Our therapists assess your child’s current abilities and develop an understanding of their strengths and difficulties.

Step Two: Setting Goals

Where are we going?

We are committed to collaborating with our clients, and their parents about what matters to them. Let’s dream up a future where they’re a ballet dancer, an independent adult, or an astronaut. As a team (yes, you’re on the team) we will break that down into small and achievable goals in the here and now that we can work towards in therapy.

Step Three: Therapy

How do we do this?

We know you’ve heard this before, but it’s important to know that therapy is a journey. Each team member has a role to play, and our therapists are in it with your family. Regular therapy sessions include a variety of dynamic and effective therapy approaches tailored to your child’s needs. This includes the creation of home programs and parent coaching.

Step Four: Review

How is it going?

Reflecting on what we are working on is an essential part of the process. We rely on parents collaborating with us, and honestly examining every aspect of the supports that are in place for their child in order for us to make changes as needed. We frequently check in on the progress of our specific and measurable therapy goals, and strive to create an opportunity to celebrate all the little milestones on the journey. We think of this step as the pit-stop, and we aren’t afraid to ask for directions if we’ve gotten a little waylaid.
