Alex Fitzgerald | Occupational Therapist

Based in Perth

Occupational Therapist , Paediatric,Therapist, Sunshine Coast

Given that she was born and raised on the stunning Sunshine Coast, it’s no wonder that Alex is a beach girl who loves to surf and get outdoors. Now she’s brought her love of coastal living to Perth’s beautiful beaches, thrilled to immerse herself in the western heart of Australia.

In fact, Alex loves the water so much that she was a competitive swimmer for many years!

When she’s not swimming or sipping coffee, Alex brings years of experience as an occupational therapist to the More Than Able team. She has honed her skills supporting children of all abilities, engaging and collaborating with their families, and delivering exceptional OT interventions that make a real difference.

Alex is thoughtful, bright and passionate about affecting positive change in the lives of her little clients. With extensive experience across disability support, child development, equipment prescription, and NDIS services, she expertly navigates the complexities of paediatric OT. Alex specialises in supporting children with complex physical disabilities and genetic conditions, alongside mental health support for children and young people, standardised assessments, and school-based interventions.

She brings a neuroaffirming lens to her work with autistic and ADHD individuals, ensuring each child feels understood and celebrated for who they are. Her excellent work ethic is matched only by her thorough knowledge of every quotable line in “The Office”.

Alex is a joyful and light soul who continues to be an invaluable part of the More Than Able family.

Factoids about Alex:

  • Alex loves ramen, deeply. She’s spent so much time eating it that she’s even learned how to make it from scratch, with no recipe!
  • Astronomy is one of her passions, some may even say she’s an astronomy buff (AKA nerd). Alex can pick out planets and constellations in the night sky, and none of us are smart enough to fact-check her on it. So basically, we think she’s an astronomy genius!
  • She’s quite the athlete: Alex loves to snowboard in Japan, and has completed the 21km Rottnest Island Channel swim TWICE! (Hello, could she have a longer list of talents!?)
