Meet Jamine – Director, Senior OT & Clinical Educator

Occupational Therapist , Paediatric,Therapist, Sunshine Coast

The small Central Queensland town of Emerald raised the fun-loving, coffee-drinking, and wit-filled lady named Janine, Jasmine, no wait…. Jamine (she’s heard all the variations!).

Jamine is one of the directors and co-owners of More Than Able Therapy, where she leads the clinical direction of the practice and the interdisciplinary team. She believes every child deserves access to excellent allied health care, regardless of where they live or how complex their needs are. That belief has shaped the way MTA has grown from a Sunshine Coast clinic into a service spanning Western Australia and regional and rural Queensland.

With over a decade specialising in working with children with complex and co-occurring conditions, Jamine’s clinical work sits at the intersection of occupational therapy, medical, and developmental needs. She has a particular love for the kids whose presentations are layered and multifaceted. Think cerebral palsy alongside sensory processing differences, genetic conditions with co-occurring neurodivergence, cerebral visual impairment, or demand avoidance profiles that require a team to really think together. These are the kids she lights up for.

Much of Jamine’s outreach work is delivered as part of the clinical team within First Nations community health and education services in regional and rural Queensland, working alongside GPs, paediatricians, nurses, educators, and allied health colleagues. It’s a different model to clinic based therapy, and one close to her heart.

Jamine is a learner at heart. She grounds her practice in current evidence and neuroscience, with family centred care and parent coaching sitting at the core of her clinical approach. Whether she’s reading the latest research, listening to a clinical podcast between appointments, or reflecting on and refining the team’s clinical pathways, she is driven by growing as a clinician herself and making sure every member of the MTA team is doing the same. For Jamine, the families who walk through the door deserve a team that never stops learning.

That same energy extends to her work in clinical education, supervision, and mentoring. She genuinely loves helping other therapists find their feet, back themselves, and feel confident in complex work. If you’re looking for a supervisor who will challenge you, support you, and probably make you laugh, she’s your person.

When she’s not in clinic, Jamine is living her best life as wife to Adam and proud bonus mum to 2 girls, with their golden retriever Ted completing the crew. You’ll find her pulling a sourdough out of the oven or pottering around her garden pretending she knows what she’s doing.

Factoids about Jamine:

  • Born in South Africa, raised in Central Queensland, now firmly planted on the Sunshine Coast
  • Believes sourdough, cheese, and wine should be their own food group
  • Ted the golden retriever is her unofficial co-therapist and contributes nothing except good vibes
